CRITIC REVIEWS
Stephen Tanzer
Deep ruby-red. Wild, gamey aromas of roasted currant and truffle; liqueur-like but not at all hot. Great sweetness balanced by lively vinosity; conveys an impression of sound acidity. Classy, well-delineated wine, showing no sign of its elevated alcohol. Seamless, even tannins are completely hidden beneath the wine extraordinary fat.

The paradoxical 1997 Barolo Cerequio possesses exquisite purity as well as an open-knit bouquet, but restrained, tannic, forceful, backward flavors. Dense and rich, with the vintage's thickness well-displayed, it will be at its best between 2005-2020.
