Deep red-ruby. Aromas of black cherry, blueberry, licorice, dried flowers and spices are a bit stunted by oakiness. Sweet and rather soft on entry, then nicely stuffed with energetic fruit in the middle. The broad finish features some slightly drying oak tannins.

A full-bodied 2007, Les Asteries reveals scents of espresso roast, white chocolate, blackberries, and black currants, a deep, medium to full-bodied mouthfeel, sweet tannin, and surprising volume and density.

A Jonathan Maltus wine. Spicy and compact on the nose. Round and succulent without any exaggeration on the finish except it's a little pinched. Good ripe fruit in the beginning but slightly hard work towards the end!
