The 2019 Chevalier-Montrachet Grand Cru has a pure bouquet that blossoms in the glass, with perfumed orange pith, jasmine and light waxy scents. The palate is beautifully balanced with a silky texture, perfectly judged acidity, light spice notes and a touch of chamomile and white pepper toward the finish. Perhaps it needs just a touch more persistence on the aftertaste? This is a very promising Chevalier-Montrachet if your expectations are not sky high. Tasted blind at the Burgfest tasting.
