CRITIC REVIEWS

The 2021 Les Grands Chenes, matured in 20% new oak and bottled in May 23, has coalesced nicely during its time in barrel, showing a mixture of red fruit (now more prominent), cigar smoke, cedar and a touch of wild mint. The palate is medium-bodied with a slightly herbaceous entry. Quite fresh and, you could argue, classical in style, it feels lean toward the bitter-edged finish, likely a function of the growing season. As such, enjoy this over the next five or six years without too high of expectations.
