The 2022 Le Chambertin Grand Cru will be bottled in March. It has a surprisingly low-key nose that demands coaxing from the glass, revealing light sous-bois-infused red fruit laced with orange rind and tobacco. The palate is medium-bodied with fleshy red fruit and touches of orange pith and cedar, the 80% new oak nicely integrated. It just needs a bit more substance toward the finish. Fine. Tasted at merchants' 2022 Burgundy tastings in London.
