The huge Château Lagrange is a 182-hectare estate in the Saint-Julien appellation of Bordeaux. The vineyards are planted with Cabernet Sauvignon (c.66%), Merlot (c.27%) and Petit Verdot (c.7%). The vines are dispersed on two gentle sloping gravel hillsides, close to Château Gruaud Larose and Château Branaire Ducru with a terroir that includes gravel, sand and clay soils as well as a few parcels of iron deposits. A highly tannic wine, Château Lagrange is best enjoyed with at least 8-10 years of bottle ageing, with peak maturity reached between 10-25 years after the vintage. Expect sumptuous aromas of blackcurrant and black cherry, with notes of smoke and spices. Over the years, notes of liquorice, cedar and tobacco will emerge.

The 2022 Fiefs de Lagrange is a terrific second wine. Plump, juicy and super-expressive, the 2022 is a charmer. Succulent contours wrap around a core of ripe red-toned fruit, blood orange, cinnamon and mint.
