This 0.14ha holding was planted in 1950 and the old vines deliver a very exotic nose with black and red berry fruit, savoury notes, and a strong mineral presence. The structure is firm, with plenty of tannin, but there is also a rich, slightly fat aspect on the palate that is very seductive.

Full-bodied, elegantly muscular and multidimensional, the 2019 Vosne-Romanée 1er Cru Aux Malconsorts is a layered, tightly wound wine, evocative of cassis, rose petals, Indian spices and orange rind. Broad, powerful and incipiently complex, this is a terrific proposition for the long haul.
