Benefiting from a decade-long soil research program, Ricasolis flagship Castello di Brolio Gran Selezione is a blend of the estates three main soil types: Macigno del Chianti (sandstone), Scaglia Toscana (galestro), and Monte Morello (alberese), predominantly from higher elevations. Fragrant and floral with some dried red cherry and blackcurrant fruit scents, it has a soft texture and a good structure of fine, ripe tannins. Balsamic and chocolate flavours fill out the mid-palate, giving height and depth simultaneously.

This 2019 Barone Ricasoli Chianti Classico Castello Di Brolio Gran Selezione is a bright ruby color with slightly cooked fruit, baked cherry and apple notes. It has a light nose, with some earthy aromas that just need a little more definition and intensity. This wine has a very nice texture and weight with creamy, cherry flavors and crunchy, sappy, green fruit encased in fine tannins and balanced by fresh acidity. An attractive wine with a medium finish. Drink 2020-2029
