Another breathtaking masterpiece from this Grand Cru. Its rather easy to describe the front palate with its white flowers, Amalfi lemon, white peach and fresh pineapple character, but then you depart on a long, dangerous and exciting journey that takes you up mountains, through rivers and across vast meadows. The wine’s sense of space and scale must be experienced to be believed. Then some last steps - thousands of steps - along a stony path... yet the final impression is light and delicate. From 2.3 hectares of vineyards on all four terraces of this legendary site.

Cask sample. Deeper colour in the glass than the Corton-Charlemagne, the wood is more obvious here than with the other grand cru. Lovely equilibrium on the palate with mineral notes, a line of lemon/lime, some tropical notes. This will age effortlessly for 5 years and drink well for many more. (AWH)
