Heavy clay soils before you hit limestone here, and the wine delivers unusual levels of sappy, pummice stone, juicy austerity for the vintage. Almost a granite edge to the tannins, floral aromatic intensity, bring blue and red fruits, and subtle spices of dill, sage and saffran. Excellent quality and value. 35hl/h yield, 30% new oak.

Red-fruit aroma with an added note of complexity. Bright but full on the palate, the tannins fine but present, a chalky freshness persistent. Saline note on the finish. No hurry to drink. (JL)
