The 2022 Haut-Bergey Rouge is deep garnet-purple in color. The nose is slightly muted, with suggestions of stewed plums and black cherry compote giving way to hints of unsmoked cigars and damp soil. The medium to full-bodied palate delivers a tart line, with chewy tannins to support the dried berry flavors, finishing slightly rustic.

The deeply hued 2022 Château Haut-Bergey offers a ripe, round, lush, and medium to full-bodied style as well as attractive plum and darker fruits supported by notes of wild herbs, violets, and lavender. With ripe tannins and plenty of mid-palate depth, this character-filled Pessac will benefit from 2-4 years of bottle age and evolve nicely over the following decade or more.
