Château Lafleur is a tiny 4.5-hectare Pomerol property located opposite Pétrus and next to La Fleur-Pétrus, producing wines of comparable quality. Its vineyards are situated on the gravel-rich Pomerol plateau Only natural fertilisers are used and yields are extremely low, even by Pomerol standards. Lafleur’s wine is typically a blend of 50/50 Merlot and Cabernet Franc, the latter lending a spectacularly intense perfume. They can display layers and layers of concentrated, black fruits, minerals, tobacco spices and creamy liquorice on the palate. The best vintages can last for up to 50 years.

The 2014 Lafleur has a lucid hue. The bouquet bides its time, gradually unfolding with scents of raspberry coulis, blackberry, black truffle and just a faint hint of dark chocolate, all beautifully defined and yet you know it is keeping something in reserve. The palate is medium-bodied with very fine tannin. There is that backbone, which of course you expect with this Pomerol, but also a sense of refinement and poise, a seam of spiciness that develops with time in the glass that prolongs the finish. No, it is not the greatest Lafleur that I have tasted. Its just a really great Pomerol that will give many years of pleasure.

My Right Bank wine of the vintage, along with Ausone (St-Emilion). 56% Cabernet Franc, 44% Merlot. Depth, complexity and finesse. Marked by the Cabernet Franc. Very fine tannins. Beautiful texture. Finesse and disguised power. Considerable ageing potential. Fresh, long, persistent finish.

This excludes Northern Ireland, Islands and Highlands. Deliveries outside of the UK Mainland will incur additional delivery charges, we will contact you to advise after your order has been placed.
When choosing your Shipping Method, if you would like to keep the wine stored in-bond, please select "1 Month Free Storage at LCB Eton Park". This also applies to wines which are currently En Primeur as these are not available for immediate delivery. Storage charges will apply if you choose to store your wines with us. If you would like your wines delivered, please select "Private Home Delivery in the UK". Duty and VAT will be applied if you choose to have your wines delivered to a UK address.
