This comes from three small parcels within the “Les Pucelles” appellation. Prominent notes of honeysuckle and passion fruit are laced with a variety of space and citrus elements. There is good richness and an abundance of dry extract to the strikingly refined flavors that possesses a gorgeous mouthfeel which delivers flat out superb length on the balanced finale. This is very classy juice that should basically age for as long as anyone would reasonably like.

Domaine Leflaive own an extensive 2.8ha of this Premier Cru, with vines that run up the slope from bottom to top. Aged in 20% new wood, this is considerably tighter and more focused under new(ish) winemaker, Pierre Vincent, than it was in the past, sappy, taut, chiselled fruit flavours and appealing cinnamon spice. Needs more time in bottle.

Rich and creamy on the nose, mealy lees richness. This has a tight citric nervous core and a spicy intensity on the palate. Brilliant freshness to match the intensity of fruit. (JH)
