Barolo DOCG Classico Massolino represents the synthesis of the different characteristics offered by each terroir. Massolino have always preferred traditional ageing in large Slavonian oak barrels, to maintain a purer and more forthright identity. A broad and variable range of aromas, with a surprising expressive evolution over time. The grapes come from different vineyards and this gives them a broad and variable spectrum of perfumes, ranging from tempting spicy notes to those of a sweeter, floral and fruity nature. It achieves its best expression when served with red meats, particularly game, and with dishes dressed with truffle.

The classic Massolino 2016 Barolo sources its fruit from Serralunga dAlba, although a tiny percentage of Castiglione Falletto is part of the blend. This wine is linear and tight, with an arsenal of important Nebbiolo aromas ranging from red cherry and cassis to spice, smoke, licorice, dried ginger, rusty nail and blood orange. What really stands out is the structural importance of the wine. It delivers firmness and strength, while allowing the delicate side of the grape to coexist without interference. An ample 70,000 bottles of this well-priced Barolo were produced.

Beautiful lustrous ruby. Lifted and concentrated and with a touch of oak, but subtly done and with a hint of cumin. Generous yet fresh and tightly wound with chewy tannins, balanced by integrated, fresh acidity. Can be approached now, but has plenty of potential. Should be VGV. (WS)

Cru Wine stores all its wines in-bond with LCB Eton Park. Deliveries to private customers within mainland UK are charged at £18 plus VAT, utilising London City Bond (LCB) transfer. This excludes Northern Ireland, Islands and Highlands. Deliveries outside of the UK Mainland will incur additional delivery charges, we will contact you to advise after your order has been placed.
When choosing your Shipping Method, if you would like to keep the wine stored in-bond, please select "1 Month Free Storage at LCB Eton Park". This also applies to wines which are currently En Primeur as these are not available for immediate delivery. Storage charges will apply if you choose to store your wines with us. If you would like your wines delivered, please select "Private Home Delivery in the UK". Duty and VAT will be applied if you choose to have your wines delivered to a UK address.
