Ripe black cherry fruit straight away on the first nose, this is a brilliant Petit Figeac, yet more proof of the brilliance of 2018 in St-Émilion. This is juicy, smoked caramel-laced and makes you stupidly excited to taste the first wine. It is controlled with great length and has just enough depth to give confidence but not so much that you are going to have to wait years to enjoy. Lovely stuff.

The plum, cedar, mushroom, forest-floor and sandalwood aromas are so enticing. It’s full-bodied, yet ever so fine and caressing with lovely tannins. Long and energetic at the finish. Lots of elegance and structure here. Nicely done. Try after 2024.
