The 2020 Pouget has a medium to deep garnet-purple color and notes of tar, sautéed herbs and damp soil over a core of redcurrant jelly and boysenberries, plus wafts of rubber and coffee beans. The medium-bodied palate has a chewy texture and racy backbone supporting the herbs-laced red berry flavors, finishing a little short and rustic.

Cherries, mulberries, mint chocolate and licorice on the nose. Fleshy and fruity with a medium body and chewy tannins. Not the most focused but has excellent freshness and transparency. Drink from 2024.
