Ferran Centelles
Very concentrated black fruit, powerful, a wine with an impact on the palate. It is a forceful style of Valbuena, broad, wide, with lots of ripe black fruit. The tannin is firm, I like the more robust character of this wine. It will continue to evolve for sure. Lots of flavour and a vintage that will keep for decades. It is an explosive, overwhelming style of wine. (FC)

Valbuena is moving on up. Undoubtedly it needs time to blossom, but the building blocks are firmly in place. The oak is very refined, the fruit is dark and intense. Yet its fresh, and with a welcome savoury spice to counterbalance the richness. The finish is very long, with a fine texture and that keynote lift of acidity. This needs time to come to its full potential. The Tinto Fino is blended with just 5% Merlot.
