La Place de Bordeaux is traditionally associated with the distribution of Bordeaux’s great estates. The négociant system gives producers access to an established international network of merchants and collectors, making it a natural platform for distributing wines far beyond Bordeaux itself.
Today, that network is being used by some of the world’s most prestigious producers outside Bordeaux. The September campaign has consequently become a fascinating meeting point between Bordeaux’s historic trading infrastructure and the world’s leading wine regions.

Its combination of concentration, structure and the distinctive blue-clay soils of the Masseto vineyard makes it one of Italy’s most closely followed wines.
Then there is Vin de Constance 2023, which has already made a considerable impression. Jane Anson awarded the South African sweet wine 100 points, her first 100-point score for Vin de Constance, and selected it as her choice if picking just one wine from this year’s September Releases.
The campaign continues with major names including Solaia 2023, Opus One 2023, Penfolds Icons, Clos Apalta, Almaviva 2024, Yjar and Seña, followed later in September by Cheval des Andes 2023.
It is an unusually broad selection, spanning some of the world’s most established fine wine regions.
Why These Releases Matter to Collectors
For experienced collectors, September is not simply about adding another prestigious bottle to the cellar.
These releases can provide access to wines with several characteristics that matter over the long term: established producer reputation, limited availability, strong critical recognition, proven ageing potential and an international collector base.
