(66% cabernet sauvignon, 31% merlot and 3% petit verdot) Good red-ruby. Slightly reduced aromas of black raspberry, cherry, licorice, leather and violet. Smooth and fruity, with a rather silky texture and moderate ripeness to the flavors of black cherry and menthol. Finishes with dusty, slightly drying tannins.

Tasted at BI Wine & Spirits' 10-Years-On tasting, the 2007 Talbot has a pleasant, classic nose of singed leather and game, a little muffled compared to its peers. But there is a sense of charm that I like, and it speaks of its appellation origin. The palate is medium-bodied with a smooth texture. It lacks depth and grip but is nicely balanced with a cedar-tinged finish that pulls up short, as if to say, that's your lot. Drink now. Tasted February 2017.

Bricky red. Very mature aromas of undergrowth and sweet leather. Pretty dry but the texture is very fine and there s mature pleasure here, if not for much longer. (JH)
