Since it was founded in 1859, Maison Louis Jadot has acquired many different vineyards throughout the Cote d’Or and today holds one of the largest areas under vine and some of the most famous vineyards in the region. Jadot’s wines have, in recent vintages especially, reached a level of quality that cannot be ignored. Widely recognised as a leading procuder, the wines are always in demand.

(destemmed): Medium red. Subtle nose offers a sweet floral perfume. Intensely flavored and sharply delineated, showing an almost 2010-like tension to its urgent flavors of redcurrant, pepper, herbs and rose petal. Totally different in texture from the deeper-pitched Clos de la Roche. This boasts a creamy sweetness too but with juicy acidity and underlying stony minerality giving it more obvious early shape and grip. Finishes very long and minerally, with a strong but suave tannic spine. There were a lot of pink berries here, noted Barnier, but they were small and ripe.
