The 2015 Lynch Bages offers red berry fruit, wild hedgerow, game and cumin on the nose. This is nicely focused and controlled. The palate is medium-bodied with pliant tannins. It's harmonious with tobacco- and black pepper-infused red fruit. This is structured and very fine, though more evolved than its Pauillac peers. Tasted blind at the 2015 Bordeaux Ten-Year-On tasting.

"Medium to deep garnet-purple in color, the 2015 Lynch Bages offers up crushed black berries, black cherries and dried herbs with an earthy undercurrent. The medium-bodied palate is firm and taut with lively fruit and a chewy finish."

70% Cabernet Sauvignon, 24% Merlot, 4% Cabernet Franc and 2% Petit Verdot. Aged for 18 months in oak barrels (75% new). Purple hue. Fragrant and appealing on the nose with dark-fruit and floral notes. Palate juicy and refined with well-integrated tannins. Plenty of length and energy on the finish. Youthful but accessible now, still with the potential to age. (JL)
