The 2018 Branas Grand Poujeaux was consistent with my previous tasting note. This remains quite backward on the nose, blackberry and briary, becoming floral with aeration. The palate is medium-bodied and seems to have firmed up in recent months, though there is plenty of depth towards the tobacco-infused finish. This should give 12 to 15 years' drinking pleasure. Tasted at the Branas Grand Poujeaux vertical at the chateau.

Tasted blind. Looks quite evolved. Sweet and lacks a bit of freshness but OK if drunk soonish. Despite dryish tannins - food definitely needed!
