Joaquín Hidalgo
The 2019 Pinot Noir Treinta y Dos was made with grapes from a vineyard planted in 1932 in the typical soil of the region: gravel, clay and sand. Fermented in concrete and ceramic tanks before aging for 13 months, it s a delicate purple color. The nose offers delicate notes of rose, lavender and a hint of hawthorn over a bed of nutmeg from the aging process, followed by bold aromas of sour cherry. Delivering medium volume in the mouth, the refined expression is intense with tannins that add a touch of grip keener than the usual house style. Extremely long-lasting, this is the kind of wine one finds themselves sniffing again and again in closed-eyed appreciation.
