The estate Château Quinault L'Enclos is a prestigious French wine estate, located in the vineyards of Bordeaux in Libourne. The estate is owned by the company "Société Civile du Château Cheval Blanc". It produces red wines in AOC Saint-Emilion grand cru and AOC Montagne-Saint-Emilion appellations. The estate produces a first wine named Château Quinault L'Enclos. The estate has been included in the official classification of the Saint Emilion crus of 2012 as Grands Crus Classés. The estate has a planted area of about 20 hectares of vines. The grape varieties are Merlot noir, Cabernet-Franc noir and Cabernet-Sauvignon noir. The vineyard is run by the practice of organic viticulture.

The 2019 Quinault l'Enclos comes across a bit flat on the nose compared to its peers, smudged mulberry and blackberry scents, a touch of stewed black tea. The palate is toasty and almost Rhone-like, peppery, quite fat with a concentrated, voluminous finish. Just lacks some elegance and class. I wonder if this is representative? I include a question mark against my score. Tasted blind at the Southwold annual tasting.
