The 2019 Barolo Gavarini Chiniera is brilliant and focused. Fine-grained tannins wrap around a core of bright, red-toned fruit, orange peel, cinnamon and crushed rocks. Linear and driven, the 2019 impresses with its energy, tension and nuance.

Monforte d Alba - Ginestra. Lustrous mid ruby. Balsamic and a little ethereal on the nose, with perfumed morello cherry and cinnamon bark. Layered and complex. Gorgeous, succulent cherry palate with chewy tannins. Ready now but will age. (WS)
