The 2019 Brut Classic Cuvée is a blend of 39% Chardonnay, 50% Pinot Noir and 11% Pinot Meunier, grown in West Sussex on greensand and loam. The base wines were fermented in stainless steel and oak and the wine spent 48 months on lees. Sour cream, slight smoke and smooth, cool water biscuit define the subtle nose. That same subtlety attains a tangerine brightness and sheen on the palate, where lemon and finest foam combine to make this both fresh and elegant. It is beautifully balanced, smooth, gentle and yet so utterly lip-smacking. Yum. Dosage is 6 grams per liter. Disgorged: June 2024.
