CRITIC REVIEWS

The 2020 Chasse-Spleen has a ripe nose of blackcurrant and strawberry pastille, a little more opulent than its Left Bank peers. The palate is well balanced with plenty of fruit and a touch more rondeur/lower acidity, but it doesn't compromise on freshness and fans out nicely toward the finish. This is very promising. Tasted blind at the annual Southwold tasting.

Tasted blind. Deep crimson. Dark-fruited and perfumed with violets. Open and fragrant but a little bit lean on the mid palate, though the fruit came back on the finish. (JH)
