The 2020 Rauzan Gassies is a very beautiful and expressive wine that marries power with finesse. Dark cherry, plum, lavender, espresso and chocolate infuse the 2020 with notable depth. Rauzan Gassies is a pretty rich Margaux, and yet all the elements are so well balanced. I admire the depth and substance here.

73% Cabernet Sauvignon, 27% Merlot.Deepest crimson. Open and scented and gently floral (peony) - I would have thought this had some Petit Verdot in the blend but apparently not. Lovely stone-dust quality adding a minerally dryness. Such fine tannins give a dry, light but long and elegant finish. Almost salty in its mouth-watering freshness. (JH)
