The 2020 Corton Les Maréchaudes Grand Cru includes 100% whole bunch that is neatly disguised on the nose. Blackberry, briary and crushed rock unfurl with impressive delineation, quite precocious but neatly controlled. The palate is sweet and plush on the entry, its richness counterbalance by the acidity and it retains fine delineation and mineralité towards the finish. Give this 4 to 6 years in bottle.

Only four barrels of this cuvée were produced and the wine was made without the addition of any sulphites. Cask sample. Deep purplish crimson. Really quite sweet and plump on entry. Even if there is marked acidity too. I'm not sure I would pay a grand cru price for such an atypical wine. Edgy acid and tannin on the end.
