CRITIC REVIEWS

The 2020 Corton-Pougets Grand Cru has a classy bouquet, much more understated in style, with brambly red fruit, briar and wilted flowers, but it seems to peak and then becomes a little muffled after 15 minutes. The palate is medium-bodied with sappy red fruit, elegant in style and more transparent than its peers, yet it exerts an insistent grip. Nicely composed, it's just the aromatics that leave a question mark, but this will surely achieve a mid-90s score with bottle age. You can see the potential. Tasted blind at the Burgfest tasting.
