CRITIC REVIEWS

The 2020 Chablis Montée de Tonnerre 1er Cru has some issues with sulfur on the nose. An eggy note obscures the terroir expression. That seems to be addressed with some aeration. The palate has a slightly bitter entry. There's sharp acidity, and it's linear in style; however, the 2020 misses a personality and feels a bit hemmed in on the finish. This lacks grip but does develop a light spiciness. Tasted blind at the annual Burgfest tasting.
