The 2021 Barolo Bricco Fiasco is a super-classic wine from this Castiglione Falleto site. Bright acids and veins of tannin drive through a core of red-toned fruit. White pepper, mint, slate and orange peel all race across the palate. The 2021 Bricco Fiasco is an archetype of excellence. It is one of the finest wines I have tasted here in some time.

Castiglione Falletto. Lustrous mid ruby with orange tinges. A core of marasca cherry and wild strawberry wrapped up in spice and black-pepper notes. A full nose that is not completely open yet. Camphor and a hint of eucalyptus over ripe sweet cherry on the palate. The chewy tannins have depth rather than spreading horizontally over the palate. Great balance and aromatic length yet still in an embryonic phase. (WS)
