The 2021 Barolo San Rocco marries finesse and power. Firm tannins drive through a core of red-toned fruit, iron, white pepper, dried rose petal and chalk. The 2021 is deep and resonant on the palate, but it also offers notable saline-infused vibrancy. It's a dynamic Barolo in the glass that reveals myriad shades of nuance over time.

Serralunga d Alba. Mid ruby with orange tinges. Firm, savoury and minerally nose with ethereal raspberry and cherry fruit underneath. Elegant and juicy with finely ground, chewy tannins that take the lead on the finish while the fruit curls up. Great balance, while the different parts need time to fully integrate. That is only a question of time. (WS)
