CRITIC REVIEWS

The 2022 Talbot is far superior on the nose to the previous three Saint-Juliens. Finally, much more delineation and mineralite, blackberry and light pencil box scents coming through with time. The palate is medium-bodied with rounded tannins, supple in the mouth, more savoury than expected, with a touch of bitterness right on the finish. Tasted blind at the Southwold tasting in London.

Tasted blind. Dark, quite lustrous purplish crimson. Seems as though there is lots buried in there. Fresh fruit and stony - sort of St-Estephe-like. Very correct even if not for the very long term. Good balance. (JR)
