CRITIC REVIEWS

The 2022 Troplong Mondot has a very complex nose that takes ten minutes to really open in the glass, revealing pure black fruit, graphite and touches of sous-bois-a little Left Bank in style, à la Figeac (for example). The palate is medium-bodied with fine tannins, crisp and, again, extremely pure with a caressing texture. There is impressive tension through the precise and tender finish. This is an outstanding Troplong-Mondot. Afford it three to four years in bottle, and it will peak after ten.

Tasted blind. Luscious texture. Very flattering with the fruit - just - outweighing the considerable tannic charge underneath. Very ambitious. (JR)
