The 2022 3 de Valandraud has opened up on the nose: it is plush and pure in style with black cherries, cassis and violet scents. The palate features supple tannins, fleshy texture and well-judged acidity. Well made in its style, the 2022 comes across opulent and lavish with glycerine towards the heady finish.

Tasted blind. Lustrous, deep, dark garnet. Very ripe on the nose with some sweet oak. Very flattering indeed with some floral notes. Hedonistic. Tannins almost imperceptible. Long and luscious. [Many tasters took it for Ch Tertre Roteboeuf! And it came top overall.] (JR)
