The 2022 Morey-Saint-Denis Village comes from two parcels at the top of the slope. It has an attractive nose with red berry fruit and touches of oyster shell in the background, quite open and expressive already. The palate is medium-bodied and a little rustic on the entry, not necessarily in a bad way, but it's currently a little herbaceous around the edges. It will probably need a couple of years in bottle.

From two quite high parcels south-west of Clos des Lambrays that are usually the last to be picked. Shallow soils so very low yields for a village wine, 35 hl/ha max. All destemmed. Average vine age 70 years. 17 months in 15% new oak. Very fresh, racy fruit. Quite marked acidity and a finish reminiscent of citrus peel. There s certainly lots of energy and only medium concentration. Medium length. (JR)
