The 2022 Pommard Les Pezerolles 1er Cru, which comes from 60-year-old vines, doesn't quite have the cohesion and vitality of the Epenots at the moment. The palate is medium-bodied with grainy tannins and decent fruit concentration, though it needs more complexity to come through on the finish. Solid, but not their best Pommard in this vintage.

Cask sample. Mid crimson. A little spicier than the Voillot Volnays but still open, with peppery dark fruit. Fine friction from the tannins, which are chewy but not aggressive, giving a balanced whole in an embryonic wine. (JH)
