The 2022 Beaune Les Teurons 1er Cru, which includes 50% whole bunches, has a straightforward, light Morello cherry and crushed strawberry bouquet. Given my appreciation of this vineyard, I must confess that I am seeking more complexity. The palate is medium-bodied with quite sharp acidity that does not quite marry with the sucrose core. Abrupt finish. Jury's out on this one.

Cask sample. Juicy, lovely purity of dark-berry fruit with vibrant acidity to follow. Quite a bit of oak apparent but this will settle in a year or so. (AWH)
