CRITIC REVIEWS

The 2022 Chapelle-Chambertin Grand Cru has a more complex and charming bouquet than the Latricières, with disarmingly pure dark cherry, bergamot and loamy scents. Wonderful delineation. The palate is medium-bodied with a suave entry. The mid-palate is rich and opulent, perhaps compromising some precision in the process. It may be this was picked a day or two late? There s a bit of heat on the finish at the moment.

Cask sample. Biodynamic. Mid to light cherry red. Bright red fruits with a layer of stone-dust minerality. Gentle, almost soft tannins, not quite silky but nearly there. Yet there is depth and finesse to the fruit and the whole is incredibly elegant. Long finish. (JH)
