The 2022 Gevrey-Chambertin Vieilles Vignes has an attractive, quite floral, red-fruited nose with rose bush and dewy meadow scents. Fine delineation. The palate is medium-bodied with slightly grainy tannins and a sweet core of red cherry fruit laced with spice with a touch of heat on the finish.

Cask sample. Understated and a little 'animal' on the palate. Fine tannins. Certainly not a fruit bomb, this is a more ethereal village Gevrey. (AWH)
