Created to appeal to the most demanding Bordeaux palate with finesse and understatement , according to Peter Gago. This is the wine they sell via the Place de Bordeaux. There are now lots of Cabernet clones in Australia, apparently, and according to Gago Cabernet is once again getting a bit more popular in Australia. Aged 16 months in French oak hogsheads (83% new, 17% second use).Dark purple. Very rich nose. And then such a firm structure. Makes one sit up! Long. Elegant and refreshing. Long and complete. Sophisticated. Bone-dry finish. Very pure and transparent. (JR)
