Joaquín Hidalgo
Made from grapes grown in Puente Alto, Maipo Valley, the 2022 Almaviva belongs to the select group of iconic wines from the region. In recent years, Almaviva has been refining its vineyards to ensure their longevity, a process reflected in the 2022 vintage. The impact of drought and concentration is evident in this blend of 72% Cabernet Sauvignon, 23% Carménère, 4% Cabernet Franc and 1% Petit Verdot, aged for 20 months in French oak barrels (70% new). Deep purple in color, the 2022 offers ripe aromas of cassis and blackberry, with notes of menthol and cedar. Indulgent, with a plush and well-structured palate, it leaves a long, mature finish with lingering wood tones. A powerful and energetic red, this is quite rich and concentrated.
