CRITIC REVIEWS

The 2023 Blaufränkisch Kalkstein was harvested in older vineyards closer to Lake Neusiedl in Breitenbrunn. Two-thirds of the wine went through carbonic fermentation and one-third was traditionally fermented on skins. Once blended, the wine aged for eight months in a large, used barrel. The translucent wine has a slight funk and reduction on the nose. The palate skips with lightness, displaying joyful cherry juiciness framed by white pepper. This is pure ease, lightness and brightness. It lends itself to being chilled.
