The 2023 Pommard Les Rugiens 1er Cru has a wonderful bouquet, a step up from the 2022, with well-defined brambly red berry fruit, crushed stone and dried flower scents. There is a sense of focus and purpose here. The palate is medium-bodied with fine-grained tannins, good balance and freshness with a classically styled, sapid finish. Give this four to five years because this is a very good Les Rugiens.
