The 2023 Volnay Les Fremiets 1er Cru has a perfumed bouquet with rose petal-infused red berry fruit and touches of Provençal herbs in the background. The oak is nicely integrated here. The palate is medium-bodied and quite grippy at the moment, with sappy red fruit notes. This is what you might call a solid Volnay that, like a couple of other cuvées, just needs a little more precision on the finish.
