The 2023 Volnay Les Caillerets 1er Cru showed some VA on the nose and so I will not assess this for the moment. (Tasted twice at the domaine.)

Cask sample. Mid cherry red. Intoxicatingly sweet and aromatic red fruit. Hedonistic first impression contrasts with firm, chewy tannins, which dampen everything down on the palate. A bit drying on the finish. Maybe it will come round. Benefit of the doubt given. (JH)
