The 2023 Puligny-Montrachet Les Pucelles 1er Cru comes from a single plot. It has quite a strict, almost buttoned-down bouquet with wet limestone, red apple and light pear aromas unfurling with aeration. The palate is fresh on the entry, with a pleasing brightness here. It gains weight and intensity toward the finish, which gives you the sapidity to want more. Perhaps this is a step up from the 2022?
