The 2024 Are We There Yet is a blend of 43% Touriga Nacional and 57% Shiraz, using 10% whole cluster with two weeks on the skins, basket pressed and aged in used 500-litre French oak. It has a perfumed nose with black fruit, brine and black olive scents that slowly open in the glass. The palate is medium-bodied with quite firm tannins, but there is real complexity here. Introspective compared to Savage's other labels, with a comparatively austere finish, this will demand time but it will be worth the wait.
