The 2016 Léoville Barton has an outgoing nose with an unexpected touch of eucalyptus that tinctures the lively black fruit. The palate is medium-bodied with firm tannins. Nice backbone here, fresh and sapid, with a harmonious, almost briny finish that lends it so much personality. Excellent. Tasted at the 10-Year-On tasting at Bordeaux Index.

Deep garnet-purple colored, the 2016 Leoville Barton delivers a superstar nose of creme de cassis, plum preserves and blueberry compote with suggestions of fragrant earth, unsmoked cigars, licorice and cedar chest. Medium to full-bodied, rich and seductive with firm yet velvety tannins, it has a decadently rich finish.

86% Cabernet Sauvignon, 14% Merlot.Deep colour. Marked cassis nose. Lovely freshness and balance. Poised in weight and style. Juicy but firmly structured behind. Tannins more incisive than the 2015 with plenty of grip and drive on the finish. Should make very old bones.
